[Specification of Acid Light Yellow G]
Acid light yellow G is a yellow powder. It is easily soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, and cellulose solvent, soluble in ethanol to give a yellow color, slightly soluble in benzene, and insoluble in other organic solvents. The dye appears yellow in concentrated sulfuric acid and also appears yellow when exposed to concentrated nitric acid. When dyeing, it appears reddish in the presence of copper ions and darker in the presence of iron ions. It has good leveling and dyeing properties.
