Prices for textiles made in China estimated to rise in the coming weeks

Prices for textiles and garments made in China are estimated to increase by 30-40% in the coming weeks with the planned shutdowns in industrial provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong. The shutdowns are due to the government’s effort to reduce carbon emissions and shortage of electricity production owing to short supply of coal. The planned shutdowns are estimated to continue till December of 2021.
