One year on from the launch of its new textile dyeing auxiliary for polyester and its blends, which combines several processes including pre-scouring, dyeing and reduction clearing in one single bath, Huntsman Textile Effects claims collective water savings of more than 130 million litres.
Current demand for polyester fabric is being driven by a seemingly insatiable consumer appetite for sportswear and leisure clothing. Huntsman says that sales in the sector have been on an upward trend for several years.
The disperse dyeing of polyester and its blends has traditionally been resource intensive, time consuming and costly.
